Complex Regional Pain syndrome (CRPS ) is a chronic pain condition that typically affects an arm or a leg. It is characterized by severe and prolonged pain, changes in the skin color and temperature, swelling , and sensitivity to touch. The exact cause of CRPS is not fully understood, but it is believed to involve abnormal responses of the nervous system.
